Why,
The Conventional Eye
Exam is NOT Always Enough
The conventional eye exam, or
refraction test, only addresses
the central processes of
seeing called acuity; can
you or how well can you
see the eye chart. When
we do not see clearly or
sharply we are called myopic
(nearsighted), hyperopic
(farsighted), or astigmatic
(more than one focus). When
we can not see up close
to read we are called presbyopic
(old eyes); this occurring
at around the age of 40
years young.
At The Center
for Visual Management,
although we are fully
equipped to and in
many cases do a conventional
eye exam, we are also
able to explore vision
a few steps further. We
help people with problems
that go far beyond
sight (acuity) alone. We
employ special testing
procedures that examine
the fundamental relationship
between a person's
visual orientation
and their spatial world. We
examine and manage
our patient's total
visual organization. |
