Why,
The Conventional Eye
Exam is NOT Always Enough
To answer this question an examination can be defined by two constructs: pre-retina and post-retina. The conventional eye exam, or
a pre-retinal exam, is an investigation of the structure of the eye, it's health and its clarity (sight). A pre-retinal exam determines how clearly or sharply we can see. When we are nearsighted, we are called myopic, farsighted we are called hyperopic, or astigmatic for more than one focus. When we cannot see up close we are called presbyopic (old eyes); occuring at around the age of 40 years young.
At The Center
for Visual Management,
although we are fully
equipped to and in
many cases do a conventional
eye exam, we are also
able to explore vision
a little further; by means of a post-retinal examination. Post retina is the minds organization, analysis and direction in how we as humans process and perceive our world (vision). |
